"Tafseer -ul- Jilani" is the book of tafseer written by Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani. Sheikh Abdul Qadir was born in the small town "Nabaq" of the city Jilan in the year 1177 A.D. He learned the Holy Quran by heart in his early childhood. The thirst for religious knowledge took him to Baghdad which was then the centre of religious scholars. After quenching his thirst of knowledge and completing his education, he started teaching in the famous religious institute "Baab-ul-Azaj". During his teaching period, he wrote a number of valuable books and "Tafseer-a-Jilani" is one of them. Although its copies were present in different Universities but for a long time, it remained hidden from the general public. In the era of Halaqu Khan, a large number of books were thrown in the canal but its other copies remained save in other Universities.
"Tafseer-ul-Jilani is one of these books. It consists of six parts. Dr. Muhammad Fadil Jilani and Sheikh Ahmad Fareed has done a detalied research on it and Mufti Abdul Rasool Mansoor-Alazahari has translated it into Urdu. This article will discuss "Tafseer-a-Jilani" in detail and prove its ties with Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jilani.
